Salary:  $90,000 - $95,000 per year

Role's mission

An Instructional Designer in the company focuses on creating effective training programs and educational materials aligned with the global development strategies.

Main responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and create engaging content that enhances learning and development. 
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and manuals specific to processes, safety protocols, and compliance requirements. 
  • Conduct assessments to identify training needs within the Group. 
  • Design training plans and programs. 
  • Identify the needs in the business by collaborating with managers and employees.  
  • Implement the training plans and guarantee its execution 
  • Ensure the organization of training actions, re-adapt the plan according to the context, develop training courses, curriculum, or materials, and deliver and evaluate trainings sessions.  
  • Coordinate guest trainers or subject matters experts (SMEs). 
  • Manage relations with professional and institutional training partners: stay alert on the market for training service providers (digital, face-to-face, etc.), select organizations that meet training requirements, etc. 
  • Oversee the training plan budget and maximize funding from the collecting organization. 
  • Ensure the reliability of computerized training data, ensures reporting, etc. 
  • Ensure the reliability of assessment and evaluation tools to measure learner progress and the effectiveness of instructional materials and strategies to engage learners and encourage active participation using multimedia and interactive elements. 
  • Support in the negotiation of contracts that create favorable outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners efficiently to provide the best learning and development programs. 
  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and various technologies to deliver and track training programs. 

 

Your profile

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Communications 
  • Bilingual (or near bilingual) in French and English 
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a Human Resources department, ideally working on L&D projects 
  • Knowledge of instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, and learner-centric design and learning solutions and new developments 
  • Quick learner, detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality 
  • Prior experience working as an LMS or TMS administrator, preferred 
  • Prior experience hosting and producing virtual workshops preferred 
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills of trainings and in project management 
  • Experience in overseeing instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to. 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Support company and departmental projects and initiatives, be a collaborative team player 
  • Customer-centric mindset coupled with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships and rapport quickly and deliver outstanding internal and external customer service 
  • Ability to use Technology effectively to enhance learning outcomes 
  • Ability to travel in Canada and the United States of America equivalent to 0-15% of the year
