Purpose of the Role

As Assistant Production Manager you will be based at our Warrington bitumen manufacturing plant and ensure operations, safety, quality and service delivery levels are maintained to a high standard. You will lead a team of hardworking operatives and be mentored and trained by our Plant Manager, who has over 30 years service with Colas. The role offers excellent development opportunities for a committed individual from any manufacturing/ production environment. You should have an appreciation for LEAN principles and experience of working to quality standards. 

Main Responsibilities

As Assistant Production Manager, you will assist the Production Manager to ensure the safety of personnel and environment issues are all controlled within the relevant legislation. You will manufacture and package products in line with Quality, Environmental and Safety ISO standards and liaise with internal customers to keep the operations running at an efficient level. As Assistant Production Manager you will also be involved in inventory planning and ensure all stocks of raw materials and packaging are effectively managed and regularly monitored.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful in the role of Assistant Production Manager you have an appreciation of LEAN tools and methods, have people management experience and previously worked in a manufacturing / production environment. You will have strong communication skills with both and internal contacts and external customers and be focussed on health and safety and service delivery. 

Package Description

Here at Colas, we offer a great total compensation package, including:

A salary of £38,000 -  £42,000 per annum
